So I finally painted and decorated my office. It was about time too. I hated explaining to clients over video conference why I had pink walls with a mural of a thatched hut, palm tree and a blue flamingo. I never wanted to do that again. This is one of the latest shots that I have touched up for the Coffee Table Book. I love this shot. To me, it is an updated Mona Lisa, but with a man. I am almost finished with touching up the 100 photos for the book. I never imagined my OCD would kick in so much when touching up these pictures. I suppose it’s because I really want them to be, well, awesome. I really want this book to be a complete success, not because I have done the photography, but because the message is so important. Especially today where people are still fighting stereotypes.

So, this spot is a complete gem. We needed a new concept for a BlackBerry campaign, and Matt, the copywriter, suggested the headline Sweet, Juicy, Blackberry, and my mind went wild. The first thing I thought of was a BlackBerry getting covered in Chocolate with a Barry White voice-over. Boom. So, here it is in it’s five seconds of fame. I say five seconds because that’s about how long it lasted on TV. Well maybe a couple of days. This deserves an explanation.

Companies have branding guidelines. Some companies are really crazy about them, ie Apple, HP and, of course, RIM the makers of the BlackBerry. Technically I should be typing it as BlackBerry®. Anyways, advertising in Alaska gets overlooked by the major companies. There are only 600,000 people in the entire state for Pete’s sake, why would they care. Well, we got this account from a competing agency. They have been bitter to say the least. Did you know that in BlackBerry branding guidelines, the BlackBerry Smartphone cannot be covered by any object when shown in a sales manner. Yeah, didn’t think so. No one knows that. So today has been very crazy and I still have a lot of work to do so I will keep this short. Our son Liam was playing at the park with some friends. He was having so much fun he lost his footing on the playground equipment and fell on some stairs. I got the call from my wife just as the Fedex guy was dropping something off and I was trying to finish some HTML coding for a client.
