a new timelapse – from Austin to Browns Valley

No, we did not move again, nor are we planning to. Well, after all this heat, I’ve been thinking about it. Anyways, this was a trip we took back in March to visit Rachael’s family when her brother got married. Somehow we convinced ourselves that driving there would be fun. In honor of my other time-lapse, I had to do this new one learning from my previous mistakes. I set my camera further back this time so your could see the car in it. I wish I could have removed our rear view mirror, though, as it isn’t as fun to stare at me. Alas, I digress, please enjoy:

bats and bridges and Vaughan, oh my

So we finally went to see the bats. It proved impossible to capture with my iPhone but I managed to capture this Van Gogh-esque image of the Congress Street Bridge where the bats fly out from.

I wish I could say that our kids loved watching the bats, but truth be told they were board out of their minds. To make it worse a street guy was selling knockoff LED light sabers that actually lit up pretty cool, but we didn’t have any cash on us (does anyone carry around cash anymore?). My sons couldn’t understand why I couldn’t give him my credit card.

I also got this one earlier for a friend at work who has been begging me to get this image of the downtown statue of Stevie Ray Vaughan.
