Any of you remember the Searching for Sonny post I did a while back? Until the film comes out they are keeping up a nice little blog you should follow, if you like film. It’s at dslrfilm.com. Anywho the image above is a weekly comic they are doing about what should have happened in a particular movie. Get the reference? Think Kindergarten Cop. Link to post here.
I laughed almost as hard as I did when I saw this picture from awkwardfamilyphotos.com: (the caption makes it more funny)

(caption: The cat is thinking of entering him into some more shows.)

I really haven’t gotten into Madmen at all, mainly because we don’t have cable. I know that may come to a shock from most, but why pay for something when I can watch everything I want to online. The only reason I want to have cable is for the commercials, and even those I watch online. You get the best of the best. I digress.
The shot above was for the new season release of Madmen. It is a really freaking cool shot. Plus, it was a really freaking cool setup. They actually used a tank of water. It was shot by Frank Ockenfels and produced by The Refinery.
The best part is watching the making of video, which you can see below the jump. If you are reading this in a feed you may need to see this directly on the blog.

Anyways, this was a trip we took back in March to visit Rachael’s family when her brother got married. Somehow we convinced ourselves that driving there would be fun. In honor of my other time-lapse, I had to do this new one learning from my previous mistakes. I set my camera further back this time so your could see the car in it. I wish I could have removed our rear view mirror, though, as it isn’t as fun to stare at me. Alas, I digress, please enjoy:

So somehow I stumbled across this on Wikipedia. That’s right, a Penman invented the equation for evaporation.
Just had to share that.

If they would just spend the money to combine these two shows for real. Until then, we will have to use our imaginations with the help from Dean Fraser at Springfield Punx. Go to the site to see more movies and TV shows “gone Simpsons.” Pretty cool.

It is interesting to see in this digital age the rush to get the most megapixels and highest resolution. Combine that with the nicest glass you can find and you are guaranteed to take awesome photographs right? Wrong. I don’t care how nice of a camera you have, like Chase says, the best camera is the one that’s with you. Case in point, I read an article from the New York Times about an exhibit by Shawn Rocco. Shot entirely with a Motorola E815 (pictured in the fake ad above). How good can they be? Just watch the video below to see. Also check out his blog at www.cellularobscura.blogspot.com.

In 1993 AT&T ran a series of really cool ads that I remember watching, thinking, “That would be so cool.” Well just watch this video to see how close they came. Seriously the only thing that has tanked are the “phone booths” but we do what they said they would do from our laptops, even cell phones. Pretty cool for being 16 years old.
ps the commercial I was working on is finished and to the client. You’ll see it next week.
